Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Weight Loss Journey is a health and fitness tracking service from Kreative, developed by Krishna Kottayada in India (“we”, “us”). This policy covers this website (weightlossjourney.co.in) and the Weight Loss Journey mobile apps for Android and iPhone when they are released. For the purposes of Indian data protection law, Kreative decides why and how your personal data is processed.

2. This website

The website is informational. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not set tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply.

3. Information the apps collect

The apps work on your device first. We only receive the information below if you use the feature that needs it.

Account information

• Your email address, name and profile identifier when you sign in with Google or with an email and password.

What you log

• Meals and notes, calories and protein, water, workouts and exercises you tick off, activities, goals, program dates and weight entries.

Health data (optional)

• Steps, sleep and weight from Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iPhone), only if you turn on each category yourself. Access is read-only and you can revoke it any time in your phone’s health settings. This data stays on your device unless you also switch on health backup.

Meal photos and descriptions (optional)

• If you use the AI meal estimate, the photo and the text you write are sent for analysis and are saved to your private account.

Notifications

• Meal reminders are scheduled on your phone and are not sent by us. If you turn on coach notifications, we store a device notification token so we can send them.

We do not collect your contacts, precise location or advertising identifiers, and we do not use advertising or analytics SDKs.

4. How we use your information

• To run the app: show your journal, goals and progress, and back it up and sync it if you choose to.
• To provide features you ask for, such as AI calorie estimates, meal ideas, workout planning and personalised encouragement.
• To send reminders and notifications you have enabled.
• To keep the service secure, prevent misuse, fix problems and provide support.
• To meet legal obligations.

5. AI features

Some features use Google’s Gemini models through Google Cloud. They are available only to accounts where the feature has been enabled. When you use one, the relevant content is sent to Google Cloud to generate the result: for example a meal photo and your note, the ingredients you list, an activity you describe, or a summary of your goals and recent progress for encouragement. Meal free-text notes, your email address and your account identifier are not included in coach summaries.

We do not use your content to train our own models. Google processes requests under its Google Cloud terms. AI output is an estimate and can be wrong, so please review it.

6. Who can see your information

Your journal is private to your account. To run, support and keep the service safe, an authorised administrator at Kreative can view account details, logged data, AI requests and results, and meal photos that you have submitted. Administrator actions such as viewing a photo are recorded. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.

We share information only with:

• Service providers that run the app for us: Google Firebase and Google Cloud (sign-in, database, file storage, cloud functions, notifications, hosting and Gemini AI).
• Authorities when the law requires it or to protect rights, safety and security.

7. Where your data is stored

Backed-up data is stored on Google Cloud, with our database and functions in the Mumbai (India) region. Some processing, including AI requests, may take place on Google infrastructure outside India. Data on your phone stays in the app’s protected storage.

8. How long we keep it

• We keep your account data while your account is active.
• You can delete data on your phone at any time, and uninstalling the app removes local data.
• Turning off personalised encouragement removes the stored coach summary and message.
• To delete your account and backed-up data, email us from your registered address. We aim to complete requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention duties. Short-lived backups may take a little longer to expire.

9. Your choices and rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law you can ask to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• correct or complete it;
• have it erased;
• withdraw consent for optional features (such as health data, backup, AI features and notifications) at any time in the app or your phone settings;
• get your concerns addressed through our grievance contact below.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing done before you withdrew it.

10. Children

The service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections and private storage, and we limit who can see data. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your device and account protected.

We may update this policy as the service grows. When we make important changes we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you in the app or on this site.
